The True Heritage & Ancestry: EDNA application processes user images strictly for the purpose of ancestral analysis, stylized portrait creation, and real-time visual effects.

Use of Face Data:

Face data is used exclusively to:

• Analyze Phenotypes (AI): Analyze phenotypical traits (such as facial structure and features) from uploaded photos to estimate heritage regions.
• Generate AI Visuals (AI): Transform the user's likeness into historical, era-specific ancestral portraits.
• Visualize Facial Shapes (TrueDepth/AR): Utilize the TrueDepth API to map real-time AR effects and wireframes onto the user's facial topology (Face Mesh) locally on the device to visualize face shape.

2. No Biometric Identification

• No Identity Verification: True Heritage & Ancestry: EDNA does not use facial recognition technology (neither via AI uploads nor TrueDepth AR) for the purpose of verifying identities or authentication.
• No Biometric Database: We do not collect, store, or share biometric identifiers or biometric information (such as face geometry templates) for the purpose of uniquely identifying an individual in a database.

3. Data Storage and Retention

We adhere to a strict split-storage policy to distinguish between Uploaded Photos and TrueDepth Data:

• Storage and Retention of User Photos: We securely store your uploaded photos and generated results to allow you to revisit your history and utilize app features without re-uploading. These are retained on our servers to ensure a seamless user experience until you choose to delete them.
• Retention of Generated Results: The resulting reports are stored securely associated with your account. This is necessary to allow you to revisit your history, view your gallery, and track your daily heritage guidance without needing to re-upload and re-process your photo for every session.
• TrueDepth Face Mesh: Data collected via the TrueDepth API (Face Mesh) is processed instantaneously on the device (on-device processing). This data is transient, meaning it is never stored on our servers, never uploaded, and is discarded immediately after the effect/filter session ends.
• No Biometric or Identification Use: The technologies implemented in True Heritage & Ancestry: EDNA do not allow unique identification or authentication of a user. True Heritage & Ancestry: EDNA does not collect biometric identifiers or biometric information, and does not perform biometric analysis from uploaded photos.

4. Sharing Photos with Third-Party AI Providers

• Processing Partners: User-uploaded photos are transmitted via encrypted channels to secure third-party AI service providers, such as OpenAI and Google (Gemini), and image generation APIs etc., solely for the purpose of completing the complex image generation and analysis tasks required by the app.
• Third-Party Policies: Please acknowledge that these third-party AI services operate under their own respective privacy policies and terms of service regarding data handling, storage, and model training. While we select partners with high security standards, their specific practices are governed by their own policies. We encourage you to review the privacy statements of these providers (e.g., OpenAI, Google) to understand how they manage and protect your data.
• TrueDepth Face Mesh: The AR facial topology data for visual effects is never shared with any third parties. It remains strictly on your device.

5. User Control and Deletion

Users maintain full control over their generated data. At any time, you can:

• Delete Individual Results: Remove specific ancestral portraits or reports from your history.
• Delete Account: To delete your account and all associated data, you must contact our support team directly. Upon receiving your request, we will process the permanent deletion of your account and information from our systems.
• TrueDepth: Since we do not store AR Face Mesh, there is no data to delete.
• Effect of Deletion: If you choose to delete a result or your account, the associated data is removed from our active servers. All residual data is permanently purged from backup systems within 30 days.

6. Ownership and Intellectual Property

This section governs the rights to the AI-Generated Content (AI-GC) produced by True Heritage & Ancestry: EDNA.

• User Responsibility: It is the user's sole responsibility to ensure they have the rights and permissions to use the photos they upload. True Heritage & Ancestry: EDNA does not claim ownership of the original input material.
• Paid Subscribers: True Heritage & Ancestry: EDNA PRO subscribers own the ancestral portraits and reports they generate during their subscription period and receive royalty-free usage rights globally for both personal and limited commercial use.
• Free Users: Free users' generated content is owned by True Heritage & Ancestry: EDNA, but free users are granted a license for personal, non-commercial use only (with required attribution to True Heritage & Ancestry: EDNA AI).

7. Data Storage Location

Data (Uploaded Images & AI Results) is stored temporarily on secure servers managed by True Heritage & Ancestry: EDNA and trusted cloud providers (e.g., EU or US).

8. Accuracy and Entertainment Disclaimer
